…that I just want Johnny Sack to use some kind of piano wire and choke the shit out of Hillary?

A politician, regardless of party, can’t just use a show like that and not expect someone to think the same thing.

(Attention secret service: I don’t want anyone to really do that. It’s a political commentary.)

“Hello. I’m Michael Brown. I just quit the government because people were makin’ funna me. I don’t think it’s right that they make funna me. I did my best. I did. I tried to arrange pony rides for my employees, but they just shook their heads and went back to making first aid kits and being confused. My FEMA bio is pretty funny though

In 2004, Mr. Brown led FEMA’s thousands of dedicated disaster workers during the most active hurricane season in over 100 years, as FEMA delivered aid more quickly and more efficiently than ever before.

Yup, that’s mostly a lie and an untestable assurance, but it sure sounds good! It’s very different from when I was on TV saying that I didn’t know about the people at the convention center! I have to admit, I did know, but it sounded good at the time.

I’m going to miss government. And I’m going to be very sad to leave. George said I was doing good! That’s something!

I love you FEMA!

Sometimes the right is just wrong. This is one of those cases. With the administration’s pressure on the FDA, they have yet to approve the "morning after pill" to be sold over the counter. Just to be clear to all you dumb-dumbs out there, this is a pill THAT PREVENTS CONCEPTION.

It is not an abortion pill. This should be something that the anti-abortion should be supporting, but that would make sense. This would PREVENT abortions.

Update: Just to be clear, Plan B is essentially a double dose of birth control that prevents ovulation:

An uneasy night of sleep after watching all the horror on television. I dreamed that our room was filled with dark water with huge pieces of wood floating in it.

I’ve got nothing to add that you haven’t heard before.

It looks like the worst kind of nightmare that you can imagine. Little response from the government, hellish situation on the ground, idiots shooting at heliocopters. Drug addicts going crazy in the streets, good people helping themselves, and the weaker giving up and wanting help.

I suppose you can just give money and hope it doesn’t happen to you.

I do, however, imagine that there is going to be a significant political fallout. It’s about time. Troops, Nation Guard especially, in a country where they shouldn’t be, doing things that they shouldn’t do because they should be stationed in the states helping here. I’m sure they’d much rather be helping their own country too.

The only thing I have yet to see is the crazed right wingers talking about how it was God punishing sinners.

What a nightmare.

This is for my own protection and is prompted by the recent debates over the right of someone to die with dignity. I have no plans to die for many, many years, so don’t get all freaked out. But if it ever happens that I’m in a vegetative state, coma (longer than, ummm.. let’s say a year), or have some mental disability that prevents me from caring for myself or communicating effectively:

KILL ME!

Do me a favor, won’t you? I don’t want to become the center of a debate and I don’t want my loved ones bickering over whether to keep my flimsy and useless body pumping along for no reason than moral edification. I’ll be of no use to anyone and unable to fulfill my societal and familial obligations. That’s no way to be. Donate all of my organs and hollow me out like a pumpkin. I don’t need that stuff.

My body: no coffins. Throw me in the fire and throw my ashes in the dump. No one needs them either.

Again, I hope this never comes to pass, but I beg of you.

I, Alexander Michael Mestas, write this of sound mind and body, March 17th, 2005.

[Ed. note - married, son on the way. Still agree with this. I want what remains of my body to be used as tree fertilizer though. - Alex, 2008]

Many critics of Gingrich has noted that while his party hammered President Bill Clinton over the Lewinsky scandal, that Gingrich himself had a history of what many would consider bad personal conduct.... Also, during the very time of the Lewinsky scandal, Gingrich was having an extramarital sexual affair with Callista Bisek, a scheduling and assistant hearing clerk on his staff who is 23 years his junior.

In January of 1997, the full House (by a 395-28 vote) reprimanded Gingrich and fined him $300,000. The sanctions were for “intentional or … reckless” disregard of House rules by using tax-exempt foundations for political purposes and subsequently lying to the House ethics committee….[I was in DC and was seated in the audience at the congress the day he apologized for this. He didn't seem very sorry - Alex]

Many critics of Gingrich has noted that while his party hammered President Bill Clinton over the Lewinsky scandal, that Gingrich himself had a history of what many would consider bad personal conduct. In 1981 Gingrich reportedly informed his first wife, Jackie Battley, that he wanted a divorce just as she had received a diagnosis of cancer. Gingrich and Marianne Ginther were married months later.

Also, during the very time of the Lewinsky scandal, Gingrich was having an extramarital sexual affair with Callista Bisek, a scheduling and assistant hearing clerk on his staff who is 23 years his junior. The affair reportedly began well before Gingrich assumed the speakership in 1994, and continued through his divorce from his wife, Marianne Ginther Gingrich, in 1999. Reportedly, Gingrich’s fellow Republicans knew he was engaged in the extramarital relationship and used that knowledge to ease him out of the speakership.

One of the dangers of voting is that you often vote for candidates who you don’t really know about. In most cases, I’ll just vote along party lines and hope for the best. After all, what do I care about the Sanitation Supervisor election? I don’t .

Apparently, in one Southern California town, a hermit was elected to the school board. He didn’t campaign, didn’t show up to any events, and nobody knows what it is that he stands for. Until now, he didn’t receive any attention from the newspapers. He refuses to give interviews.
