It looks like the worst kind of nightmare that you can imagine. Little response from the government, hellish situation on the ground, idiots shooting at heliocopters. Drug addicts going crazy in the streets, good people helping themselves, and the weaker giving up and wanting help.

I suppose you can just give money and hope it doesn’t happen to you.

I do, however, imagine that there is going to be a significant political fallout. It’s about time. Troops, Nation Guard especially, in a country where they shouldn’t be, doing things that they shouldn’t do because they should be stationed in the states helping here. I’m sure they’d much rather be helping their own country too.

The only thing I have yet to see is the crazed right wingers talking about how it was God punishing sinners.

I don’t want to become the center of a debate and I don’t want my loved ones bickering over whether to keep my flimsy and useless body pumping along for no reason than moral edification. The affair reportedly began well before Gingrich assumed the speakership in 1994, and continued through his divorce from his wife, Marianne Ginther Gingrich, in 1999. Reportedly, Gingrich’s fellow Republicans knew he was engaged in the extramarital relationship and used that knowledge to ease him out of the speakership.

Apparently, in one Southern California town, a hermit was elected to the school board. He didn’t campaign, didn’t show up to any events, and nobody knows what it is that he stands for. Until now, he didn’t receive any attention from the newspapers. He refuses to give interviews.
