Drink of Choice
Perhaps I really am changing as I grow older. In college and soon thereafter, my gorge would rise at the taste of hefeweizen. Its sour, non hoppy taste would cause me to gag if I even thought about it.
But, now embolden by my girlfriend’s love of the stuff I gave it another chance. And I’ve come to say that I downright love it too. The drink of choice?: Widmer Hefeweizen of Portland, OR. Out of the tap, it’s cloudy – almost like a yellow Guiness. With a piece of lemon in there – you’re bound to love wheat too.
There’s really no point to the post above, except I’m drinking now. And I want the world to know it.
I think in the summer we tend towards lighter beers. Did you go to the Brew Festival at the end of July??
You didn’t like Hefeweizen? You were wise to keep that information from me. Now your failure is COMPLE… Oh wait a second.
Hefeweizen is good.
In Germany you mix Hefeweizen with 7-up and call it a Radler. It is really good. If the beer is dark you mix it with Coke. It’s very common in Southern Germany. You should try it.
