While Dave is over there celebrating the birth of 300 posts, I’m rearing round 1000. Amazing really, not for their number, but for their complete lack of quality and importance. Unlike Dave, sometimes I post shitty stuff. But I have been doing this for a while – let’s see… a little over three years.

Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself, and I’ll have a retrospective and analysis in the coming days.

In the meantime, someone beat me to the punch by posting about the horrors that are the Kidz Bop series. Basically, it’s a CD that you get your youngster featuring re-creations of pop songs, sung by a band of mewling

B0000Agwfi.01. Scmzzzzzzz and wheezing children. Next to neo-Nazi rhetoric, it’s probably the most disgusting and heinous thing that has ever crossed my ears. Sometime last year, highly drunk and wanting to spend money, I purchased the worst song I could find on iTunes. In this case, it was the Kidz Bop version of “Landslide.” The song, emotional and haunting, is turned into a grating assault on all that is sacred and right.

I don’t know what prompted me to buy it, nor why I continue to listen to it. Maybe it’s a good exercise – me looking deep into the abyss… and the abyss singing right back.

997, eh? That’s pretty impressive. I look forward to the retrospective.
