Hermit Election
One of the dangers of voting is that you often vote for candidates who you don’t really know about. In most cases, I’ll just vote along party lines and hope for the best. After all, what do I care about the Sanitation Supervisor election? I don’t .
Apparently, in one Southern California town, a hermit was elected to the school board. He didn’t campaign, didn’t show up to any events, and nobody knows what it is that he stands for. Until now, he didn’t receive any attention from the newspapers. He refuses to give interviews.
I know it’s not really “funny” in the tradition sense, but for some reason I found it humorous, and more than a little weird, that he lived with his bedridden parents. To me, it sounds like something out of the movie Psycho. Has anyone checked to see if they’re still alive?
